Being a busy working mother, I was always trying to squeeze in more dog walks. Luna Loves Walkies allows me to do more of what I love, while providing a reliable dog walking service for busy pet owners.
Since I began dog walking, my appreciation for these wonderful animals has increased tenfold, and I have loved learning more about dog behaviour, first aid, and basic dog training through various courses.
I offer individual, group and half day adventure walks as well as home visits and puppy-visiting services.

Our walks are tailored to each dog's needs - I always make sure they get plenty of exercise and attention, ball-throws and back scratches among other enrichment activities like sniffing and retrieving.
Uniquely, I offer GPS-tracked walks meaning you can see for yourself the variety of our adventures and know exactly how much exercise your dog is getting after each walk.
I've got a keen eye for a good photo op and will send updates whenever I can.
Home visits, including puppy visits, are also suitable for cats and kittens. Here, I can check on your pets and ensure they are fed, watered, toileted, and have all the attention they deserve.
Exploration and adventure are at the heart of Luna Loves Walkies.

I look for the most exciting places for zoomies, ball chasing, and side quests (letting their noses guide us!). We rarely visit the same walk twice each week, unless that's what they're used to of course.
Mainly based in and around Sherborne, we are spoilt for choice with the myriad footpaths and bridleways through rolling fields and parkland.
Our Half Day Adventure walks take us to the South West Coast Path for some more rigorous hills and trails. Charmouth, West Bay, Chesil beach and Studland make for a truly dizzying array of adventures for those involved.
As well as having an enhanced DBS and full public liability insurance, I also have a certificate in Dog First Aid.
I'm also a professional, friendly and approachable person who genuinely wants you to be happy with your choice of dog walker.
Covering Sherborne, Longburton, Bradford Abbas and more!
Not just a quick online course, I studied an in-person, full day course that was specific for dogs - with the majority being relevant for cats too.
My qualification means I carry a first aid kit with me at all times, and know how to use it!
A hugely enjoyable course delivered by Paws and Progress, which included modules on effectively assessing clients' needs, working with different weather conditions, Safe travel considerations for particularly reactive dogs, how to manage reactive behaviors and preventative strategies to prevent reactions before they happen.
Luna Loves Walkies is a dog walking service that puts each dog's needs above profit.
Choose an individual walk for your dog if you know they suffer with reactivity, they are nervous, don't like other dogs, or just for your peace of mind that they have my full attention.
I have a GPS tracker which I attach to your dog's collar, which when used with the app shows me their location at all times - along with data such as steps taken and distance covered! This is a service for individual walks only.
'Group walks' are a great opportunity for your dog to socialise and play with other dogs. The maximum group size I will lead is 4 dogs, with 1-2 of these being my own! That way, I know each dog well, including how they will act in any given situation, and I'm able to handle 4 dogs on leads.
Here are the best reasons why:

No need to book an impersonal cattery for while you're away. Enlisting the help of a caring, dedicated service like Luna Loves Walkies can provide peace of mind that your cat is comfortable at home while you're on holiday.
My service is suitable for indoor cats and those that are used to independently using a cat flap.

With so much excitement going on, you can skip the day care and make the day all about the adventure!
We choose a location on the South West Coast Path, which is known for its stunning views, rollercoaster hilly trails, and dog friendly beaches with stop offs along the way. It's our favourite place to walk!
You might find us in Charmouth, Seatown, West Bay, Weymouth, Studland, or beyond.
I run a fully insured and DBS checked dog walking service, so you can trust that your furry friend is in good hands.
I have a certificate in Dog First Aid which I gained by attending an in-person, full-day course.
Luna and I have walked for miles and miles along the paths on the south coast, so we know what to expect around every corner.
Your peace of mind is paramount, which is why every walk is tracked with a specialist dog tracking device.
This means I can see in real time where your dog is on an app, even in the unlikely circumstance that he/she runs off.
You'll also be able to see our route, and the activity of the pack!

DownloadWhether that's our style, the kind of dogs we are used to, our experience and simply how well we get on! The key is finding somebody you trust and that works for your dog and your lifestyle.
Here are some handy tips for choosing the right dog walker for you and your dog:
1. Do Your Research:
Read Reviews: Check online platforms like Facebook and Google for reviews from other pet owners.
Ask for Recommendations: Your family and friends, neighbours, parents on the school run and even your vet might know a great dog walker.
Check out their social media. A great online presence shows they really care about their business.
Check Local Groups: Facebook groups such as community groups or specialty dog owning/walking groups can be a wonderful resource for recommendations in your area.
2. Interview Potential Walkers:
Send a message or call a potential dog walker. You'll know quickly whether you're a good fit for each other from just a brief exchange. Look for a polite, prompt, professional and considered response to your messages.
Schedule a Meet & Greet: Arrange a short meeting with the walker and your dog. Observe their interaction and ask questions such as:
-How long have they been walking dogs? - What breeds and sizes have they worked with? - Are they insured and dog first aid qualified in case of accidents or injuries?
3. Consider Your Dog's Needs:
Temperament: Is your dog social or shy? Does it require extra attention or have any special needs? Can the dog walker provide this for you?
Exercise Level: How much exercise does your dog need?
Schedule: Do you need regular daily walks, or just occasional help?
4. Trust Your Gut - this is the most important one:
Choose Someone You Trust. Go with your instincts! You want to feel completely comfortable leaving your dog in their care.
The Dorset Dogs Professional Dog Walkers Charter is a set of strict guidelines which dog walkers can voluntarily sign up to. I believe that promoting responsible dog walking is really important, for everybody's safety and enjoyment of outdoor areas.
Guidelines include always carrying poo bags and disposing of poo carefully, being aware of spaces where dogs aren't allowed off-lead, and carrying a dog first aid kit with me.
You can read the charter and find my listing on Dorset Dogs.
